Martha B. G. Lufkin is an experienced attorney concentrating in probate, estate settlement, estate planning, wills, and trusts. She was associated for a decade with two major US law firms, Shearman & Sterling, New York, and Bingham Dana & Gould, now Bingham McCutchen, Boston. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts (1989) and New York (1983).

Ms. Lufkin is experienced in the probate and administration of estates, from the small to the very large, including post-death steps to reduce estate taxes, estate tax settlement, property located in multiple jurisdictions, family sensitivities, dealings with beneficiaries, and settling estates including probate court accounts. She is also experienced in advising beneficiaries, executors, and trustees.

Her estate planning practice includes wills, trusts, and estate tax planning, from the basic to sophisticated estate, including planning for retirement plans, non-citizen spouses, revocable trusts, insurance trusts, and the generation-skipping transfer tax.

Ms. Lufkin is an accomplished writer and an award-winning public speaker. She has a national and international reputation as Art Law Correspondent for The Art Newspaper, a widely-read international publication covering the art world. Her scholarly articles about stolen antiquities and Nazi-looted art have appeared in legal journals in the US and UK. She has lectured at many private clubs, and at universities, law schools, synagogues, libraries and other venues. In 2006, she received a Distinguished Speaker Award from the Brandeis University Osher Institute for her "outstanding" lecture on Nazi-looted art. Her recent speaking engagements have included the Harvard and Yale Clubs of Boston, the Yale Club of New York, Harvard Law School, the Cosmos Club of Washington and the National Yiddish Book Center.
