Steven M. Taylor joined Clark, Hunt & Embry’s Litigation Department in March of 2008. Mr. Taylor’s areas of concentration include business litigation, with an emphasis on insurance defense, insurance subrogation and premises liability.
Prior to joining Clark, Hunt & Embry, Mr. Taylor was an associate with the Law Office of Peter A. Lagorio, where he represented universities, banks, credit unions, and businesses in the collection, litigation and recovery of default student loan obligations and outstanding balances. At the Law Office of Peter A. Lagorio, Mr. Taylor gained experience working on various plaintiff class action suits in the areas of securities, consumer protection, product liability and antitrust. Mr. Taylor was actively involved in a wide range of class actions, including Kirby v. Cummins, 05-2005-Ca-028401 (Brevard County, FL) (shareholder dispute for breach of fiduciary duties); Lapic v. Boston Coach Corp., 06-0896-BLS (Suffolk County, MA Superior Court) (class action under Massachusetts tip statute); Michaeli v. eXact Advertising, LLC, 1:05-cv-8331 (S.D.N.Y.)(co-lead counsel in consumer class action arising out of computer spyware practices); Carlson v. Xerox Corp., 3:00-cv-1621 (D.Conn.)(securities direct class action concerning accounting fraud); Central Laborers' Pension Fund v. Sirva, Inc., 04-C-7644 (N.D. Ill) (securities).
Mr. Taylor is a graduate of Bucknell University, where he studied music and history. He obtained his law degree from the New England School of Law. During law school, Mr. Taylor served as a Production Editor for the New England Journal on Criminal and Civil Confinement, one of the nation’s top criminal law journals.
Mr. Taylor is admitted to the Bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
