Attorney William J. Hunt  Named a 2006 Massachusetts Super Lawyer

Cambridge, Massachusetts – November 2, 2006
Clark, Hunt & Embry, the largest Cambridge-based law firm, announces that Partner and Co-Founder, William J. Hunt, has been selected as a 2006 Massachusetts Super Lawyer.  Only five percent of attorneys in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts receive the honor of being named a Super Lawyer.

Super Lawyers is a legal publication that conducts annual state-wide surveys of practicing lawyers with more than five years of experience.  The legal publication uses a multi-step process to identify quality candidates. The publication measures the amount of peer recognition and professional achievement of each proposed attorney to determine who will receive the designation of Super Lawyer.

"I am incredibly flattered to be named as one of the 2006 Super Lawyers," said Hunt, who has been practicing law since 1978. "I have a great deal of respect for many of the attorneys named as this year’s Super Lawyers and it is a true honor to be in their company."

In 2006, there were more than 800,000 Super Lawyers nomination ballots sent throughout the country.  The ballots ask attorneys to nominate colleagues in their field who they have personally observed in action.  Additionally, staff at Super Lawyers conducts interviews, completes research and consults databases to identify the top lawyers in each state.  There are a number of factors considered in evaluating potential Super Lawyer candidates such as experience, honors and awards, special licenses, positions within the firm, pro-bono and community service, scholarly lectures and writing, education, and employment background.  In 1991, Law and Politics magazine published the first issue of Minnesota’s Super Lawyers, a consumer’s guide to the best attorneys in the state.  As the annual magazine gained recognition, publishers began to introduce Super Lawyers in cities around the country.
